It is a feeling familiar to parents everywhere.
You take your eyes off your children for a split second only to look back to see the devastation they can cause in just a few moments.
But very few parents have ever returned to the sight that greeted Charlotte Wilson, from London, whose children covered her house in blue paint while she was outside.
Taking to Facebook, the mother explained that she had left a one-year-old, a two-year-old and two three-year-olds inside the house while she nipped out to fill up the swimming pool on a warm summer's day.
While she was only gone for a few minutes, the toddlers still found plenty of time to wreak havoc in the bedrooms, corridor and stairwell of the family home.
Charlotte came back in to find large swirls, dashes and splatters of paint across the walls, windows and furniture.
The carpeted floor of two bedrooms, including a nursery, were ruined, as was the uncovered mattress of a double bed.

Chaos: The group of toddlers, aged one, two and three, smeared the teal paint across the doors, walls, carpets, windows and mattresses of two of the bedrooms in the family home

The teal paint was also smeared on the door, wall and cupboards.
Charlotte's video clip of the destruction has been viewed more than one million times since she posted it on Facebook last week.
In the caption, she said she had initially lost her temper with the children but later saw the funny side, writing: 'I thought I'd share with the world what a one year old, 2 year old and two 3 year olds are capable of doing to a house in the space of ten minutes while I was filling a swimming pool.'
